I've been scouring the web for info about VOE. One good source I've found is: rimoftheworld.net/They have a very good map there. There's also this at that site: Sunday 1:45 PM: According to a pilots report, the fire is near Waters Drive and Johnny's Market in Valley of Enchantment. I have NOT found any confirmation for this anywhere. A friend from CedarPinesPark says the firefighters are holding the line along Highway 18.

VOE was the first town to get hit by the fire as it came up from behind cal-state. The playground fire I am assuming was right next to the school, and it quickly became attached to the Old Fire. I heard that as of earlier today Johnny's Market was fine, but I think the situation has changed. I just talked to someone who told me that Crestline was in okay shape thus far, but that was only in town. I have a friend who lives on Pine road and her house is directly in the path or the flames if it has not already been destroyed.

Does anyone know how close the fires are getting to Running Springs at the junction of 18 and 330? My brother evac'd from there last night. Any info is appreciated. Email me at voyager1962@aol.com.
Thank you very much.

I heard there are spot fires in VOE, Johnny's Market is still there. That is all I have heard, though I should get some news later from my nephew who is going back up today to do some work for the county.

As of this morning VOE is still standing, as is Johnny's Market. The playground fire was threatening many homes, but it's progress was stopped by a sprinkler that was left on in someone's yard. But I would like to remind people that when they evacuate they should turn all water sources off, because if a hose or sprinkler is left running it takes some of the pressure away from the fire hoses. More info later Kelly

I'm pulling for Johnny's Market and Madeline's Ocean View Cafe in VOE, next door. I eat breakfast at Madeline's (Linda Teal is the owner) and buy from Harold in Johnny's Market. My home is in the mobile park (VOE) and I pray to God we all make it.
