Trying to learn of status of Valley Ridge Road and upper access roads & homes located between Wilderness Road @ Hwy 18 and exiting over by the CHP Substation/Firehouse.
What's the best method of getting specific street address information. Does anyone know what radio frequencies/repeaters or Amatuer Radio operators are operating in or around Running Springs? Would like to estabish set time of scheduled "net" with other HAM's up there. 73's & 88's to all the Hams and wonderful Fire Crews. Jim Scrimger (310) 373-6104 located in Torrance area.

Nothing in Running Springs has burned yet. My husband is a CHP officer and is still up there. He is sleeping at home during the day, and going to the office for his shift at night. As of yesterday evening, the fire was still surrounding Running Springs, burning in Nob Canyon on one end and just below Dons Garage and Rimwood on the other. Cedu is still there, but it did burn close. He has not found any burned homes in the Rimwood or Nob Hill area.

;D Thanks for the quick update; I have felt that things are safe up there. This bulletin board is the best thing to-date that I have found for getting into the specifics of each area affected by the fire. We would like to plan a visit to the 31490 Valley Ridge address, but don't quite know how to plan it since we still think there may be electrical power issues, telephone service & possibly gas service interruptions as well as inclement road/weather conditions. If the place is still there, we would only need to clean out the spoiled refrigerator foods. I would appreciate any information the CHP or Fire Service folks are putting out re: what a non-year-rounder owner should do without increasing load on those with much more serious losses.
