Brief Update: I just spoke to Tom @ Mountain Storage @ 11am Monday. He says he can see "water tankers" hitting the fire to the west (towards Devils Canyon) and also maybe the chemical dropping planes. He says the smoke is now white, not brown, and this usually indicates a smoldering fire and not an actively burning fire Dennis

Unfortunately if you look on the news they show the fires in VOE and Lake Gregory above Goodwins.

I spoke to Tom @ Mountain Storage again at 1:45pm, Monday. He said that around 12:30pm he took a drive down Waters Dr. in VOE, then up to Top Town, and down to Lake Gregory. He did NOT see any fires in VOE, although he heard the fire was moving up Devil's Canyon and might be threatening Cedar Pines Park. From Goodwins he could see fire "up on the Rim", probably near Red Wall.
The power is still out, but the mail was delivered today to the mail boxes in the VOE Post Office !!!

VOE is Valley of Enchantment. From Top Town, if you take Highway 138 it will take you right into VOE. You can see it on this map: rimoftheworld.netIt's hard to read, but you can see Valley of Enchantment. It's to the left of Lake Gregory. See the top-most SPOTTING? It's just below that. The map shows the area as spotting with fires, but Tpm says he hasn't seen any. Dennis

My Dad lives on Tetley Lane in VOE, but he is in South Dakota at the moment. Trying to find out anything exact seems impossible. In our area, when there are fires the CDF usually posts street information at the evacutation sites. Does anyone have a phone # or website for them?
